This fund was created in memory of Bob and Joan Belschwender who were residents of Jennings County from 1964 to 2014. Bob retired after 20 years of service as a Chief Warrant Officer W-3 in the U.S. army. Joan worked in the banking industry for 23 years and retired from Union Bank & Trust in 1988. This scholarship is for a graduate of Jennings County High School who has applied and been accepted for full-time study at a college or university. The family wanted to preserve the legacy of the family name in their honor and memory.

This scholarship was established to provide support for students who are accepted into and attend an accredited public or private institution of higher learning.
