As the Jennings County Community Foundation (JCCF) approaches its 30th anniversary, we are excited at the direction the Foundation is going. At the heart of our work, we are dedicated to helping our donors create a lasting impact and positive change in our community.
In 1994, a small group decided to make a difference for good in Jennings County. From a humble start of $67 caringly placed in a coffee can, the Jennings County Community Foundation was born. As a result of that early act of faith by a few resolute to making a difference, the Foundation has time and time again responded to addressing various needs and strengthening our community.
The Jennings County Community Foundation is a countywide not-for-profit organization created to meet the needs of individual donors and Jennings County human service organizations. We offer a single philanthropic organization for donors of various interests and purposes.
The Jennings County Community Foundation receives and manages philanthropic gifts in accordance with donor directives to ensure that the donor's charitable interests are carried out.
We do this by the management of permanent endowments that meet the needs of the citizens of Jennings County through grant making and building a legacy of permanent community capital.
Our Mission is to develop endowments that will greatly improve the quality of life for Jennings County residents in perpetuity; to provide responsible stewardship of those gifts; to promote leadership in addressing community issues; and to make grants in the fields of community service, social service, education, health, environment and the arts.
The Jennings County Community Foundation holds over 200 funds in trust with current assets totaling more than $6 million dollars.
A Community Foundation is a tax-exempt, nonprofit, publicly supported philanthropic institution with a long-term goal of building permanent, named funds. These funds are established by many separate donors for the broad-based charitable benefit of the residents of Jennings County.
A community foundation is founded and operated as a public benefit and as an independent governing body broadly representative of the Jennings County community.
